A San Rafael man was sentenced to three years in state prison for a shooting in Novato, authorities said. The crime happened during a gang-related fight on April 22, 2022, in the parking lot of America's Best Value Inn at 7600 Redwood Blvd., according to Novato police Lt. Chris Jacob. The victim was treated at a hospital and released, and police identified Jordan Adelso Escobar Perez as the alleged shooter. Police booked Escobar, 22, on suspicion of attempted murder. Police also arrested, on lesser counts, an underage suspect who had instigated the fight with the victim, Jacob said.
