A parcel tax renewal in Novato Unified School District maintained an overwhelming lead Friday after a vote count update by the Marin County Elections Department. More than 83% of voters, or 12,101, voted yes for the tax, while 16.69%, or 2,425, voted no in Tuesday's special election, according to the latest figures. In the race for a short-term seat on Mill Valley City Council, Caroline Joachim maintained her winning margin, with 63.6%, or 2,188 votes, compared to 36.40%, or 1,252 votes, for Susan Gladwin.
