The Novato City Council has approved the construction of Marin County's first fully accessible and inclusive playground for children with and without disabilities. The estimated $1.1 million project will bring two play areas — one catered to children ages 2 to 5 and the other for children ages 5 to 12 — to Pioneer Park at 1007 Simmons Lane. The project was first approved by the council in 2019 but was limited to building an accessible play area for younger children while the larger play structures would remain.
